Job Search and Preparation
This is an adaptable and flexible program. Each workshop is 3 to 5 hours for one day a week for a period of 4 to 8 weeks.
The course can be adapted for school leaver students, Job Network Providers clients and adult learners who are engaging in Community Service programs and are working towards entering or re-entering the workforce.
Throughout the program learners will develop a positive working attitude, basic job search skills and gain an understanding of their rights and responsibilities within the workplace. The emphasis however, is on job-search, industry information research, interview techniques and application methods. Participants will learn to tap into the job market and maximise their opportunities by matching their skills and interests with available positions.
They will also develop a practical resource kit to support their applications. For example; covering letters, a summary Resume, relevant reports and references.
Employers from local business and community speakers presenting at appropriate times throughout the workshops provide effective insight into various fields of industries and what an employer is really looking for.
For some organisations who purchase this program a work experience component is embedded and supported into this program.
